The skeleton under the sentence
A sentence is concepts in an order. Pick what you want to say and see the order 16 languages put the same concepts in, what each has to add to hold them together, and the other ways each would say it — then fill the slots with words and watch the sentence appear. Or type a sentence and see the skeleton under it.
The compare page shows finished sentences; this shows what is underneath them. French puts the pronoun first and conjugates the modal; German locks the modal in second place and throws the verb to the end; Chinese changes no word at all and puts the time before the verb; Korean and Japanese put the verb last and glue 'want' onto it as an ending. The concepts are the same. Only the order and the glue differ.
